Putting Value on Clerical Jobs
Apr.02, 2008 in Business Administration, Business, Jobs and Careers, Career
As far as clerical work is concerned, it has been getting bad reputation as a boring and slow way of making it to the top of the corporate ladder. Normally, clerical jobs are seen as slave jobs since they often end up sitting down by their desk, doing file management of folders and typing memorandums and business correspondences that their superiors would need.
Career-wise, they are preparatory stages that will allow you to bring them when you do advance towards another level of your profession. This holds true for all professions. There will come a point that you will have to do these tasks by yourself.
Normally these are the times where you would blow your top since one of your staff may be too busy with other tasks to do. At this point they may seem incompetent but do remember, a person can only do so much.
Rather than whine, you should take the initiative. It is a low and dirty job for most, but it can also be a significant factor when it comes to getting the job done.
