Inman News is looking for a Systems Administrator:

Inman News (www.INMAN.com) is a real estate news company. For 24 years we have provided information products and services to real estate professionals and consumers via online media, memberships, syndications, special/research reports and annual events held in New York City and San Francisco. Inman News is headquartered in Emeryville, CA.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

-Maintain current phone PBX; changing settings, relocate and add new users.

-Manage all relationships with telecommunications and other 3rd party IT vendors (Phones, Co-Lo, ISP, Email Server, etc.). Review and advise on contracts, point of contact, first level of support.

-Administer all web hosting equipment in the Co-Location. This includes the routine maintenance, installation/configuration, and monitoring of the Windows 2000/2003 servers. Specific items including but not limited to OS updates and patches, backup to disk and tape, listserver maintenance (Lyris ListManager), security auditing, networking, and configuration and maintenance of the Firewall and VPN connections.

-Systems Administrator for all IT hardware and software for the LAN servers (Windows 2000/2003), desktops (Windows 2000/XP Professional, Mac), printers, firewalls and networking. This includes ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, planning, purchasing, configuration, wiring, installation, and account maintenance for all IT systems and clients.

-Provide weekly statistics reports for various websites and mailing lists. This includes maintaining web analysis tools and the creation of a weekly report.

-Assist web production staff on an as needed basis. Examples of such items include development of the Blog, web application testing, assist with design specifications and strategies, and search engine optimization.

-Assist in the company’s web site redesign with open source (PHP) platform knowledge.
