A rapidly growing, well-established medical communications company is looking for a seasoned medical writer/editor to help create promotional programs for healthcare professionals. The editor will work with a medical director on multiple projects in various specialties.

Candidates must have 3 years experience writing and editing promotional content for healthcare professionals that incorporates the pharmaceutical client’s key strategic messages and approved prescribing information. This person will combine a knowledge of FDA/DDMAC regulations and the regulatory requirements of individual pharmaceutical companies with excellent writing skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated success working with pharmaceutical clients is key. Project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment are required.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 3 years of medical writing/editing experience
• Undergraduate university degree in science, communications, journalism, advertising, or marketing (advanced degree a plus)
• Significant experience researching medical information online (eg, PubMed)
• Familiarity with FDA/DDMAC regulations and guidelines
• Ability to learn quickly and think both creatively and strategically
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proven record for attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines without compromising attention to detail
• Capable of adapting to shifting priorities
• Self-motivated and team-oriented
• Solid familiarity with medical terminology and knowledge of AMA style
