With the holidays around the corner, its hard to keep hold of the appointments and the holidays together. Those extra, unexpected Christmas gifts can throw off your Christmas budget. You can prepare for this by purchasing one or two generic gifts that you can give in return when you receive an unexpected gift or have an unexpected party to attend.

Take time this holiday season to give to someone who truly needs it. This gift may be the one that makes the biggest difference in your shopping experience. There are several charities to choose from that help to bring Christmas to the truly poor. Every child deserves to receive something special over the holidays. You can purchase this gift while you are out shopping and drop it off right away or you may decide to organize a toy drive for a specific organization or family yourself.

Ever since I started learning to appreciate books, I have always considered my self to be a writer. Well not really the writer type who sells award wining books. I just found my passion in writing. Little did I realize that not only does it enable me to practice my skills but blogging allows me to earn money. I used to spend hours at the internet looking for home based jobs. Some were scams, some dint make sense. One of the things to look at when finding home based jobs is their background. Later on, I discovered one promising site that opened so many doors for me for blogging.

There are several tips to take on before trusting some SEO sites.

Check References

Whether you want to have your home painted, rent a vacation villa, or have your website optimized, it makes sense to ask others about the services they use and what their experience has been. Ask the SEO company for references which will include sites they have optimized, and the keywords they have optimized those sites for. Follow up the references by contacting the site owners and ask them if their SEO company has provided the results they promised. You don’t know whether the sites provided for reference are owned by friends of the SEO providers, so search for the company name in a search engine and see if they are mentioned in forums etc. A little research at this point can save a lot of heartache later on.

Make them Work

Verify what keywords the SEO company will optimize your site for. Any company will be able to have your website achieve a top ten ranking for ‘hairdresser in myverysmalltown’, but they’ll have to actually work (and be good at it) to achieve a similar ranking for ‘business’ or ‘US loans’, Their guarantee will be useless if they are based on optimizing for keywords that have little or no competition.

Don’t believe an SEO company has a special relationship with Google, or special openings into other search engines, no matter what they say. Search engines guard their objectivity jealously, and would not want to lose their reputation by promoting your site unfairly. If the Search Engine Optimization company promises you special treatment, stay away from them.

Achieving and maintaining good ranking positions in search engine results takes continued time and effort. It is not a once-only exercise that can be charged for, and then forgotten about. Search engines promote sites which show evidence of long term continued development and organic growth. A site that makes a big impact and then sits unattended will not have a long term future.

There are some of the things I learned from blogging fingers. They allow you to learn more about SEO and blogging. Always remember that NOT all blogging are scams. Most of them allow people to learn more.

Some More R’s for Obama’s Codename

So incoming U.S. President Barack Obama and his family have been given code names by the Secret Service for safety reasons. Their code names all start with R as you can see in this report from Yahoo News:

Mr. Obama will be known as “Renegade” (move over, Lorenzo Lamas). Michelle, a woman of many talents, will be referred to as “Renaissance.” Malia Obama’s name will be “Radiance,” while little sister Sasha’s will be “Rosebud.”

I don’t know where they got these names but they sound too good for Obama. But if you ask me, they may as well consider these “R” words as well after the actions that Obama has shown after winning the elections and forgetting the people who supported him!

Attitude is Half the Battle

If you have ever read things like personal development books and business strategies for people that are just getting started, chances are very good that you have come across the almost godly reverence that is given to a person’s attitude. People will often say that having the right attitude is half the battle. Well, if this is true in times that are economically neutral, then it is vitally true during times that are economically unsound.

There are many businesses that go bankrupt every day and most of the financial experts believe that a lot of them could be salvaged in one form or another. However, the executives tend to give up on businesses after trying to salvage them initially and that is what causes the final descent into financial oblivion that a business takes.

This is an attitude that you need to avoid. If you give up on your business now, then even the most fixable of problems can derail it permanently. You need to decide right here and right now that you will be getting your business through these economic hard times and then do whatever it takes to make that decision follow through.
