Blogs like this will attract a lot of readers; just keep it concise and honest.

You can use your education and work history fields to create a new form of résumé. Search your friends list for valuable contacts or join professional networks that can help you find a job or at least get the word out that you’re looking.

Cities for Employment on 2010

untitled

Since everyone’s up to the holiday shopping lately its good to know that one of the most important things to consider during the season is having each other and enjoying each others company. So are you ready to leave 2009 and face a new year ahead again. It happens every year. This year and last year were among the increasingly unemployment and recession. For the next year, Business Week mentioned some of the cities you need to consider for more jobs.

Mount Vernon, Washington
With its close proximity to Seattle, Mount Vernon is not a surprising spot for jobs. Located a mere 60 miles from the rainy city, Mount Vernon is quickly turning into a town with the best of both worlds. It’s close enough to the city for weekend getaway and quaint like a rural town without the downfall of being in the middle of nowhere.

Huntsville, Alabama
Huntsville is one of the two hot spots in Alabama for jobs. Nicknamed “The Rocket City” for its involvement with space programs, Huntsville is experiencing exponential growth, thanks to the addition of 10,000 jobs due to the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) going on at the Redstone Arsenal.

Brownsville, Texas
The Port of Brownsville, an international seaport, is the reason why Brownsville is moving high up on the list. The seaport assists with strengthening the weak U.S. dollar and will hopefully give a much-needed boost to exporters in 2010.

Auburn, Alabama
Another city in Alabama to watch this year for job growth. This small town is dominated by Auburn University, a large employer protecting Auburn (and other college towns) from the doom and gloom of the recession.

Lawrence, Kansas
With the average median salary being over $50,000 a year, it’s no wonder Lawrence is on this list. Like Auburn, Lawrence is a college town (home to the University of Kansas) and is quickly becoming the place to be, thanks to its progressive and cultural offerings.

Billings, Montana
Closing the top 10 cities is Billings. The largest town in Montana, Billings has a diverse economy fueled by a variety of industries from agriculture to education. Still not convinced that Montana’s where it’s at? The median household salary of $49,386 could change your mind.

Aside from all the cities, its you choice to stay there and look for a job. One of the best advices I have learned from working is to make the most of your job because you’ll never know when you ll loose your job.

Obama Talks About Creating New Ideas

obama with mic jan 18 2008

Due to the recent recession President Barack Obama has promised at a White house jobs forum which will enable them to talk about job acceleration. In the recent studies, more and more people are losing their jobs. The president also informed the people that will create a program to help make U.S. homes energy-efficient as an example.

He also mentioned trade measures and possible new tax incentives among ways to stop job losses that are the worst since the 1930s.

“This has been a tough year, with a lot of uncertainty,” Obama said as he wrapped up the half-day brainstorming session with more than 100 CEOs, academics, small business and union leaders and local officials. “There’s no question that it’s difficult out there right now,”

The president also cited that some ideas could be put to wotk immediately and other ideas will be part of legislation for the Congress to consider. He said

“moving forward on an aggressive agenda for energy efficiency and weatherization” as a prime candidate for quick action.”

With unemployment levels above 10 percent, Obama told the people that they need to create more ways and alternatives. They cannot just sit down and watch people lose their jobs daily.

The president also informed everyone that primarily the private sector will be a help to create more jobs.

He said while he’s “open to every demonstrably good idea … we also though have to face the fact that our resources are limited.”

Obama spoke a day before the Labor Department was to report unemployment figures for November. The October jobless level soared into double digits to 10.2 percent, and forecasters don’t expect the November figures to be any better — and they could even be worse.

Obama also talked about sustainability and clean resources to help the community. Surely this would be a start for everyone. The president should create more alternatives since there is turmoil and everyone is affected

Jobs on Holidays

fa8505c3d66abcec

During the holidays, we always find time to relax and unwind. Some people might file leaves to enjoy some quality time with the family. But, there are also professionals who never stops working and can be most profitable on holidays.

Dentists

There’s no question that dentists earn a healthy salary year-round. In 2007, the average net income for an independent private dental practitioner who owned all or part of their practice was $205,960 for a general practitioner and around $353,280 for a specialist, according to the 2008 Survey of Dental Practice.

However, while they’d probably never admit it, Halloween is undoubtedly a dentist’s favorite time of year. About 40 million trick-or-treaters celebrate Halloween each year, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics. That means 40 million sets of teeth are exposed to the decaying, damaging effects of countless sugar-filled candy bars, chewy-gooey bubble gum, destructive jaw breakers and an array of other sweet treats.

Caterers charge anywhere from $15 to $40 a head plus a delivery cost for a Thanksgiving meal. Some extremely successful businesses cater as many as 800 meals on Thanksgiving day. Talk about some serious cash! No wonder caterers start salivating at the mere suggestion of the holiday season.

Debt Counselors

Last year, U.S. consumers spent a total of $28.5 billion on Thanksgiving and another $460 billion on Christmas expenses, according to IBISWorld. Some studies show that the average American family spends $1,500 or more each holiday season.

After taking part in this carefree, holiday spirit-induced spending spree, many of us wake up in January with serious debt hangover. Last year, 31% of credit card users were still working to pay off their holiday debt in March or later, while 13% were still carrying Christmas debt six months after the Yuletide season.

Apart from all this, it’s nice to know that are people who are working hard. There’s more at Investopedia.com.
