With the holidays around the corner, its hard to keep hold of the appointments and the holidays together. Other professionals even work on holidays to the extent of not spending more time with their family. Since there are so many things to do and finish, some experts have given some heads up to to save money and time during the holidays.
Several ideas has been made to keep your holidays more efficient and enjoyable.
One of the most important things that you can do is to stick to a Christmas gift budget. You can incorporate this into your monthly budget and put money away for Christmas each month so that you have the extra money in December. You should also budget how much you are willing to spend on each gift and stick to it.
If you would allow yourself some discipline to have a specific budget and lists, you get to save time and money.
Those extra, unexpected Christmas gifts can throw off your Christmas budget. You can prepare for this by purchasing one or two generic gifts that you can give in return when you receive an unexpected gift or have an unexpected party to attend.

Take time this holiday season to give to someone who truly needs it. This gift may be the one that makes the biggest difference in your shopping experience. There are several charities to choose from that help to bring Christmas to the truly poor. Every child deserves to receive something special over the holidays. There are several ways to get your job back. In case you lost them this year. Expert gave us some advices that are quite helpful in the following year. So don’t just sit there and mop all day about how unworthy you are. There’s always a way if you find some to keep you more stable. Since we did hit recession the previous year, it’s important to take some peculiar actions to save us from some of the worst.

Exhaust every resource at your disposal. Let members of your network know the type of job you seek and work with a recruiter that specializes in your field. Refine your resume and look for opportunities, such as courses or seminars, to enhance your skills and industry expertise.

Also, in your resume and interviews with hiring managers, stay focused on how you can help the prospective employer. The onus is on you to show why you are the right person for the job and will be a valuable contributor to the success of the organization, making it imperative to customize your resume for each position and research companies thoroughly before submitting your application materials and meeting with them. If you’re new with the company, do some research?

If you’re interviewing with a company, diligently research all aspects of their products, company strategy, executive team, and latest organizational changes. When you are in a situation with a recruiter or company representative, be yourself and don’t be nervous. But be able to talk about the topics that interest you with passion.

Due to the recent recession President Barack Obama has promised at a White house jobs forum which will enable them to talk about job acceleration. In the recent studies, more and more people are losing their jobs. The president also informed the people that will create a program to help make U.S. homes energy-efficient as an example.

He also mentioned trade measures and possible new tax incentives among ways to stop job losses that are the worst since the 1930s.

“This has been a tough year, with a lot of uncertainty,” Obama said as he wrapped up the half-day brainstorming session with more than 100 CEOs, academics, small business and union leaders and local officials. “There’s no question that it’s difficult out there right now,”

The president also cited that some ideas could be put to wotk immediately and other ideas will be part of legislation for the Congress to consider. He said

“moving forward on an aggressive agenda for energy efficiency and weatherization” as a prime candidate for quick action.”

With unemployment levels above 10 percent, Obama told the people that they need to create more ways and alternatives. They cannot just sit down and watch people lose their jobs daily.

The president also informed everyone that primarily the private sector will be a help to create more jobs.

He said while he’s “open to every demonstrably good idea … we also though have to face the fact that our resources are limited.”

Obama spoke a day before the Labor Department was to report unemployment figures for November. The October jobless level soared into double digits to 10.2 percent, and forecasters don’t expect the November figures to be any better — and they could even be worse.

Obama also talked about sustainability and clean resources to help the community. Surely this would be a start for everyone. The president should create more alternatives since there is turmoil and everyone is affected

Did you know that you could tweet your way to a new job? It’s quite fascinating to hear how easy it is to say. Thirty-two million and other are using their twitter but most of them aren’t using it to search for work.

1. Create your personal brand. Instead of just jumping in, Schawbel says, “Before using any social network, create a single, unified social-media strategy, so that your brand remains consistent throughout each network that you join, including Twitter.” He recommends using the same professional picture/avatar and user name, a consistent bio, and a personal brand statement that explains what you do and who your audience is.

2. Tweak your Twitter homepage. Take advantage of all of Twitter’s tools to make sure your Twitter homepage looks professional. Says Schawbel, “Just like your other social network profiles, your Twitter profile should be completely filled out. This includes your full name, location, a biography, and — the single most important element — a single link to a site of your choosing. I recommend directing people to a blog, your LinkedIn profile, or a site that you feel best represents you. If you really want to take your brand to the next level, then a custom Twitter background, which you can make using twitterimage.com or twitterbacks.com, is required.”

Start tweeting. Not sure what to tweet about? Tweet what you know, says Schawbel. “The more you tweet about what you know, the more you’ll become the go-to person on that topic in the Twitterverse. The key to building an audience is to remain interesting to your current followers so that they retweet your messages and more people discover and follow you. And, again, by constantly following more people, namely the influencers in your industry, and pushing out relevant tweets, your audience will grow rapidly.”

Let folks know you’re looking. There are a few ways to alert followers that you’re in the market for a new job. “First, revise your Twitter profile to call attention to the type of job you’re looking for. Second, customize your Twitter background and add in text that talks about where you’re headed in your career. Finally, you can send a tweet after you’ve built your follower count, which states your expertise and the type of job you’re looking for,” he advises. To get a job you may have to help others find them, too.

Adds Boston-based Schawbel, “If you discover a job lead on Twitter and it’s not related to what you want to do, passing it on is an effective way to network.”

There’s definitely some edge to using twitter. It’s one of the best networks in town.
