The title you are given depends upon where you live and work. Being a Nursing Assistant is not for everyone and requires a very caring, dedicated, qualified individuals to take care of other people and their needs, such as bathing, dressing, going to the bathroom and so on. The pay is not as attractive as it should be for the work a Nursing Assistant is expected of them. More often than not, they are short staffed, which decreases the quality of care that patients receive while at the same time presenting a safety hazard to both staff and patients alike. Nationwide, this country has experienced a dilemma of nursing assistant of the direct care-giving field. Nursing Assistant is a very wonderful, caring, fulfilling and rewarding venture a person can encounter.  As a Nursing Assistant, you must have compassion and a desire to help people. It is not an easy job but a rewarding one. New Nursing Assistant’s often find themselves overwhelmed at the workload and the pace to get everything accomplished in one shift. When the job becomes challenging, the Nursing Assistants are the ones who stay with their job and have a heart of compassion for the people they are care for.  To some Nursing Assistants, it is just a job that pays the bills and nothing more. These kinds of people are easily recognizable in the work place because of their behaviors such as being lazy and having attitude problems. The patient’s are the ones who suffer for these Nursing Assistants who made the wrong career choice. As a Nursing Assistant, you will be faced with many situations on a daily basis that require an enormous amount of patience, coping ability and maturity to care for your patients. Teamwork is an absolute necessity and if you a person who wants to work alone than being a Nursing Assistant might not be the right career choice for you.
