There’s a new place to shop if you’re looking for gluten-free goods in Racine County, while supporting non-profit organizations, and Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development secretary made a stop in Milwaukee Tuesday.
Careers Industries says it’s opening Greater Grain Gluten-Free Goods on March 1st. The store will be located on Washington Avenue, just west of Ohio Street where the non-profit recently moved in. In addition to serving the growing demand for gluten-free foods, the store will also provide jobs for people with disabilities.
Careers Industries supports community-based activities and job training for people with developmental disabilities.
Department of Workforce Development Secretary Reggie Newson toured the Milwaukee Job Corps campus Tuesday. Secretary Newson reaffirmed Governor Scott Walker’s committment to training the next generation of skilled workers as part of the “Wisconsin Working Initiative” during his visit.
Newson talked about the importance of the Job Corps Center, that helps young people complete high school while undergoing training for careers in manufacturing, healthcare and construction.
The Milwaukee Job Corps Campus is located on 60th Street, just north of Mill Road.
