South African HR Software Vendor Absalom Systems Announces New Version of SmartHR Business Intelligence Tool
Posted in Business, Business Administration, Jobs and Careers by Damien No CommentsSouth African HR software vendor Absalom Systems today announced a new version of its popular HR Business Intelligence tool – SmartHR BI. The product, helps companies manage employee data and analyse HR information in ways not previously practical. The solution provides a bird’s eye view of the whole organisation in a single dashboard.
SmartHR BI is unique in the South African market as it’s the only pre-configured business intelligence module purpose built for analysing Human Resource data. Absalom Systems developed the product through a partnership with Qliktech, the world’s fastest-growing Business Intelligence (BI) company.
“We used Qlikview 9 as our development framework because the learning curve for the end user is so quick it’s almost intuitive so that within one hour your directors can have full visibility of your HR information without any significant training.” says Brendon Gass, Managing Director, Absalom Systems.
“What’s unique is that we’ve got a pre-configured business intelligence module in the HR space. Many business intelligence solutions exist in the financial area but to date very little has been applied in the human resources area.” Added Gass
An HR systems specialist, Absalom have helped hundreds of companies in Africa with their HR data management requirements. Gass has seen a particular need to help companies integrate data from multiple legacy payroll systems and other data sources into a single source of truth.
According to Gass one of the less obvious benefits of applying BI to HR data is the ability to quickly highlight missing information and errors in data such as people with missing appointment dates, gender or when people are outside their correct job grade. This gives managers a very good picture of whether HR is managing their data correctly.
“With growing volumes of HR data there’s a real need for new ways to consolidate all that data into meaningful metrics about staff related costs, risks and productivity” says Raph Keene, Marketing Director, Absalom Systems
The new solution provides drill down and drill through analysis capability across fifteen different categories of HR information including analysis of absenteeism, performance, training and salaries.
South African companies are using SmartHR BI for a number of critical functions. For example, to compare pay levels across industry standards during salary surveys and to assess the promote-ability of previously disadvantaged candidates.
The new release of SmartHR BI extends Absalom’s BI offering and fills a much needed gap in the market for sophisticated BI analysis of staff information.
