Auto Bailout

Chrysler has announced that it was shutting down traditional operations for its 30 factories, a practice that they do at year end. However, when they do resume on January 19 (assuming they do resume), only some of the shops will re-open while others would open on the 3rd week. A sign of bad things to come?

For the 46,000 union workers of Chrysler, you have to wonder on the fate of your job. Do you still have a job once January 19 sets in? Chrysler has announced that it would all depend on what U.S. President Bush places on the table, referring to the financial bailout plan. But this has to be approved first so everyone has to stay tuned this Friday on what the U.S. auto industry has to rely on before making any moves.

For the union workers, it would be best to try out the market. See other jobs openings just for personal security measures as far as finances are concerned. There is no doubt that Chrysler will have no choice to close shop if no aid comes their way. Before that happens, it would be best to look out for their individual welfares.
