Diabecline Antibiotic Receives Edison Award for Best New Pharmaceutical Product

Posted by: Doctor Medical  :  Category: Health Scoops

Sioux Falls, SD, May 01, 2012 –(PR.com)– pharmaCline’s Diabecline® antibiotic ointment (SSPT® Tetracycline) received the Bronze Award for 2012 Best New Pharmaceutical Product at the 25th Annual Edison Awards in New York City. pharmaCline joined some of the world’s most well known corporations at the New York Academy of Sciences, which hosted the Edison Awards Innovation Showcase and Forum. The subsequent Awards Gala event acknowledged the hard work, innovation and commitment of all of the 2012 Edison Award winners.

“As the pace of innovation quickens and the ‘race to next’ becomes ever more competitive, it’s increasingly important to take a moment out of our hectic lives to recognize excellence in innovation and greatness in the teams of innovators who make our future. We are honored to present pharmaCline, and its Diabecline antibiotic ointment, with an Edison Award as one of the leading innovators of today and tomorrow,” says Thomas Stat, 2012 Edison Awards Steering Committee Chairman.

The Edison Award is one of the highest accolades a company can receive in the name of innovation and business. Edison’s inventions, new product development methods and innovative achievements garnered 1,093 U.S. patents and made him a household name around the world.

“Thomas Edison is an American hero who has shaped our modern era,” said pharmaCline CEO Steve Keough. “We are honored and humbled to receive this Award.”

Diabecline antibiotic ointment utilizes pharmaCline’s innovative Site Specific Penetration Technology™ (SSPT Tetracycline) to provide a solution to antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is a world-wide medical emergency recognized by the World Health Organization as a serious threat to the effectiveness of modern medicine.

Dr. Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization said, “At a time of multiple calamities in the world, we cannot allow the loss of essential antimicrobials, essential cures for many millions of people, to become the next global crisis.”

pharmaCline’s SVP for Sales and Marketing, Sam Michini said, “Our innovation was to go back in history and find the most widely tolerated antibiotic that kills a broad spectrum of bacteria, and to develop a safe and effective ointment delivery system that allows penetration through the pathogen’s cell walls.”

This efficient delivery of the drug to the nucleus of the bacteria results in exceptional kill capabilities against the most prevalent bacterial pathogens. The ointment also has moisture reducing properties that further prevent the development of resistance.

Thomas Edison is credited with going beyond technology and finding solutions to problems. pharmaCline is committed to finding solutions to difficult problems, such as antibiotic resistance. pharmaCline believes that many ‘old and proven solutions’ can be retooled for re-use.

“By pairing innovative technologies with other proven products, or creating our own products, we move beyond theory to solution,” said Michini. “This requires intentional development tied to the real challenges in our world.”

Presentation on Hypnosis for Health and Healing

Posted by: Doctor Medical  :  Category: Health Scoops

Sacramento, CA, April 29, 2012 –(PR.com)– In this presentation, David Kenward will talk about how hypnosis and
hypnotherapy are used to enhance health and promote healing.

Hypnosis to enhance health includes relieving and controlling chronic pain, anxiety, feelings of depression, fears, guilt, physical symptoms such as high blood pressure, irritable bowl (IBS) and more, using hypnosis and self hypnosis. Kenward will discuss approaches, methodologies and techniques. There will be demonstrations of several techniques with volunteers.

Hypnosis for healing is very controversial, because it deals with the idea that it is possible to heal the body using the mind (including cancer and other serious and chronic illnesses). They’ll discuss the ideas of yanking roots versus mowing weeds, the power of initial sensitizing events (and subsequent sensitizing events), the use of chair therapy in the hypnotherapy office and the power of forgiveness (which doesn’t mean what someone did was OK, it means you take away their power to control you), using visualization techniques for healing and more.

Hypnosis is unique in its effectiveness because it’s not cognitive, which is controversial in itself.

There will be plenty of time for QA and everyone is welcome to experience hypnosis for themselves in a safe and secure environment.

David Kenward combines his background in sports competition, the medical field and business world with other 30 years experience with hypnosis and other mental training tools, including certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.

The clinic’s preventative medicine program consists of two specific parts. The first of these parts involves identifying the patient’s individual strengths and weaknesses, deficiencies and excesses that are occurring within their body. This means they are trying to understand the imbalances within each patient’s individual physiology. This process of investigation is carried out by completing a thorough initial health history, as well as, follow-up health history intakes which includes a complete, non-invasive physical exam, as well as, an acupuncture treatment. The health history intake involves the patient discussing their health issues with their clinic’s Chinese Medical Physician, Gina Mortellaro-Gomez, MSOM, Dipl. The questioning, observation and palpation taking place during the initial visit and follow-up visits is based on the complete system of Chinese Medical Diagnosis. Lifespan Seminar to Teach Health & Wellness in Universities

Posted by: Doctor Medical  :  Category: Health Scoops

Los Angeles, CA, April 13, 2012 –(PR.com)– Lifespan Seminar, a health and wellness institution based in Los Angeles, California, and renowned worldwide for its innovative research in the field of human lifespan, will begin teaching its Lifespan Optimization system in the Master of Arts in Psychology programs at Business School of the Americas (BSA), and Young Scientists University (YSU).

Guy Joseph Ale, DBA, Founder and President of Lifespan Seminar – www.lifespanseminar.com – sees urgency in teaching health and wellness to students at this time in light of rising obesity rates worldwide. He says that the main benefits of students acquiring healthy lifestyle choices at a young age are: 1) The absorption rate is greater the earlier the skill is learned, 2) The value of lifelong healthy choices for an individual increases in direct proportion to their expected lifespan, and 3) Students will learn habits at a young age that will help them be healthy, fit, and full of energy for a lifetime.

In order to show students the true nature of the human body, Lifespan Optimization module first places humankind in a larger context of the universe, explaining that the energy, harmony, and order that are present in the cosmos also inform every cell in the human body.

Mr. Ale explains: “As the most advanced currently known link in the cosmic chain of evolution, humankind can be viewed as an instrument of the universe in its ongoing process to awaken to higher consciousness. We explain that the more we understand ourselves the more we understand the cosmos, and vice versa, in a mutually dependent evolution of scientific and spiritual awareness. Once the students clearly see the inherent resources contained in their genetic makeup, the next step is to access and apply these resources in their everyday life.”

Lifespan Optimization system uses Body Consciousness Techniques, such as meditation, pressure points, ring muscles, and touch triggers to help individuals to locate their optimal duration in themselves, and provides them Self-management Skills, such as breathing, good nutrition, sufficient rest, and active lifestyle that would enable them to make this potential a reality. According to Mr. Ale, when we are able to see the entire structure of our life we are better able to deal with the everyday challenges we confront.

Mr. Ale, who serves as Vice President of Asia Pacific Association of Psychology, and Teresa Mishler, DBA, Programming Director of Lifespan Seminar, have kept busy on the international speaking circuit, being invited to present their research on optimizing lifespan potential at global conferences on consciousness and psychology. A presentation at Stockholm University, a keynote address at the International Conference on Psychology, and other presentations can be viewed at – www.youtube.com/user/lifespanseminar/videos

Mr. Ale explains: “The awareness that we can sense how long we can live rests on the biological fact that every living organism has an optimal duration of existence. This is the amount of years that they’re expected to live under optimal conditions. For example, whales who live 80 years and shrews who live 2, both have approximately one billion and a half heartbeats in a lifetime. Unlike wild creatures who are blind instruments of their DNA, humans have the capacity to understand the amount of energy that their body contains, and use this energy in the manner that they choose.”

Mr. Ale likens not knowing how long we can live to driving a car without a fuel gauge. He says, “Let’s assume that we’re planning a cross-country trip. We have two vehicles, equal in everything except one has a fuel gauge and the other doesn’t. To be sure, we’ll be able to make it across country in the car without a fuel gauge. But which of these vehicles will give us more control, peace of mind, and mastery? If this is correct for a vehicle of metal and rubber it is all the more valid for our vehicle of flesh, blood, and bones.”

He adds: “It is a commendable decision for BSA and YSU to provide their students with a practical health and wellness program at this time, especially as the national and global obesity rates are rising steadily, with their many consequences on both individuals and societies as a whole.”

Cannapages.com Critics to Review High Times Cannabis Cup Medical Marijuana Strain Entries

Posted by: Doctor Medical  :  Category: Health Scoops

Denver, CO, April 03, 2012 –(PR.com)– The Critics at Cannapages.com will be officially reviewing Medical Marijuana strains for the High Times Cannabis Cup, through a partnership with Herbal Synergy Labs. The two Colorado companies will also be testing and reviewing entries for the two-day “420” Rally during the same weekend, April 20-22.

Although the winners will be chosen by voting patients, test results and CannaCritiques will be used for reference; analysis will begin April 13th, and a Critic’s Choice will be awarded prior to the contests. The company’s editors will also deliver a keynote address during the Denver’s rally, in support of the state’s historical November ballot initiative to legalize and regulate cannabis like alcohol.

Cannapages.com, which came on the scene as the Medical Marijuana industry exploded in late 2009, has grown from a small, family-owned directory into a tech consultancy complete with news and reviews. “As patients, we first became concerned by dispensaries struggling to make ends meet,” said senior editor, Rhett Thompson. “When we began finding mold and mildew in the product, we knew we had to start analyzing local cannabis.”

Since no certification system exists for Colorado’s medical marijuana, Cannapages teamed last year with Herbal Synergy, a patients group that analyzes not only cannabinoids, but the methods used to grow the plant and extract or activate its healing elements. “Ultimately, we want to achieve the cleanest, purest strains,” said Justin Warman, the lab’s leading biochemist. “We believe that in time, the dispensaries will come to realize the value of quantification, and then it will simply be another step in the whole process.”

The Cannapages directory has been printed in multiple publications, most recently in the newly reformatted Cronic Magazine of Colorado. The agency also drives the web technology of groups like MMIG, and the National Cannabis Industry Association.
