Quinnova Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Launches Atrapro™ Brand for Skin and Wound Care
JAMISON, Pa.–()–Quinnova Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is proud to announce the commercial
launch of its Atrapro™ brand with two products, Atrapro™ Antipruritic
Hydrogel and Atrapro™ Dermal Spray with Preservatives. Each product
formulation features patented Microcyn®, providing steroid-free,
non-cytotoxic, and non-irritating relief.
Atrapro™ Antipruritic Hydrogel is indicated to relieve the itch,
pain, and burning associated with various dermatoses, including atopic
and radiation dermatitis. In a 2-week clinical study1
involving 17 patients with pruritic atopic dermatitis, most patients
reported itch relief within 3 days of initiating treatment with the
product. Atrapro™ Antipruritic Hydrogel is available in a 4 ounce tube.
Atrapro™ Dermal Spray with Preservatives is indicated for the
management via debridement of wounds such as partial- and full-thickness
wounds, post-surgical wounds, first- and second-degree burns, and
grafted and donor sites. Atrapro™ Dermal Spray with Preservatives offers
clinicians and their patients a prescription product for use at home to
assist in the management of diabetic foot ulcers and other wounds which
often require frequent dressing changes. It effectively assists in the
physical removal of biofilm and eliminating wound odor and features a
highly effective preservative system that is gentle and non-irritating
to compromised tissue. Atrapro™ Dermal Spray with Preservatives is
available in an 8 ounce finger pump bottle.
Jeffrey Day, President CEO of Quinnova, said, “I believe Atrapro™
Antipruritic Hydrogel is an exciting and significant advancement in the
management of atopic dermatitis and other pruritic dermatoses.
Historically, most patients have been limited to a regimen of steroids,
which we know over time become less effective in managing these
afflictions. With the introduction of Atrapro™ Antipruritic Hydrogel we
provide dermatologists and their patients with a clinically proven, safe
alternative to steroids. We are also excited to add the Atrapro™ Dermal
Spray as a highly effective, safe, and convenient product for the
management of wounds.”
The U.S. therapeutic dermatology market, which focuses on disorders and
diseases of the skin, mucous membrane, hair and nails, is expected to
reach $8.9 billion by 2013 due to the often chronic nature of these
diseases.
